For Fall 2015 J Brand utilizes a mélange of extreme silhouettes and sharp sensibility to inspire a dramatic mood. Proving black is anything but basic, elongated lines and high waists smartly constructed in black denim highlight the versatility of these modern bodies. The flare makes a comeback as the standout silhouette interpreted across multiple fabrics, from a fade-resistant “Seriously Black” denim to leather to velvet.
A focus on texture lends novelty appeal to key silhouettes, bringing strong leather and utility outerwear, soft knitwear, and fine velvet camisoles into modern light. The inaugural Menswear Collection sits with the Men’s denim, creating a head-to-toe look featuring updated bombers in leather and suede, rich knit sweaters, denim jackets, and novelty pants with an emphasis on modern moto.
Shot by photographer Josh Olins at the highly architectural “High Desert House” in Joshua Tree, CA, and once again featuring model Daria Strokous, the Fall Campaign creates a dramatic contrast against the grand hillside structure and sweeping desert landscape. Designed by architect Kendrick Bangs Kellogg and completed over a 14-year construction period ending in 2002, the 5,000-square-foot Californian modern house is fully crafted from natural materials. J Brand was the first fashion brand to shoot a major campaign ad at the house. Since the campaign shoot, the house has been featured in numerous publications including T Magazine, USA Today, and C Magazine.
The ad campaign will run both domestically and internationally in publications such as the US editions of Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire, T Magazine, and various international publications including British editions of Vogue and Elle, Italian editions of Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire, and Russian Vogue.
